Wax stripper. It’s going to take a lot of work to get it out of the grout.

But as you know, wax traps dust and dirt in it, when it’s built up.

Don't laugh, but for years I've been using the bathroom cleaner Scrubbing Bubbles. Sweep and or vacuum the floor and then working in sections spray the floor. Let the spray work (5 to 10 minutes and you should see grime, etc. start to lift). I keep moving section to section while the spray does its magic, and then I mop the area thoroughly. Depending on the buildup you may have to repeat the process . It will be squeaky clean before you know it

Cynthia, I can’t thank you enough! My kitchen floor has been the bane of my existence for years. The previous owners waxed it and it’s gotten dirtier and uglier over time, especially since we got a Lab.

Today, we used Scrubbing Bubbles as you recommended. Wow! Clean and bright. I will sleep better tonight. Thanks a million!

Hi Ruth, Wax buildup on resilient flooring causes it to yellow in time. Remove old wax layers and freshen up your floor by washing it with a mixture of 1 cup ammonia in 1/2 gallon (2 liters) water. Let the solution sit for three to five minutes, then scrub with a nylon or plastic scouring pad to remove the old wax.
