How to remove stain from marble table top?
We have a beautiful antique table with a stained marble top. Not sure of the original use for this table but we plan to use it in the entry way. However, we would like to remove the large stain. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

To clean stained marble, mix baking soda and water until it's a thick paste. Apply it to the stain and cover it with plastic for 24 hours. Use a damp cloth to wipe away the mixture, repeating the process if the stain is still there.

I have had success with baking soda mixed with hydrogen peroxide. Didn't cover with plastic wrap, but did set out in the sun. Worked like a charm on a dark stain on my marble table.
Polishing compound works well. Go over the whole top to remove all the age wear and make it shine again.
I had a marble table from the 60's. it had lots of water marks on out. I tried many cleaners and procedures but nothing worked. I read about WD-40 taking water marks off wood and decided to try it. I was able to remove all but 2 small marks from the table. I applied the WD-40 several times and kept polishing with a soft cloth.
Whatever you do, Do Not use vinegar. It will etch the marble.

I have used hydrogen peroxide to "soak" the stain. Place a cloth soaked with peroxide over the stain, leave for a few hours before scrubbing stain. I don't use anything stronger than baking soda to scrub. If stain is really tough, you may need to repeat.
it will be nice to know what made that stain to help you out
