Tracy Nickerson on Apr 26, 2015Soak it in white vinegar. Tie a plastic bag full of vinegar onto the shower head with an elastic and let it sit over night. Wipe it off the next day with a warm cloth. Works!Helpful Reply

Jan on Apr 26, 2015I did it on my guest room shower, & discovered, after forgetting about it for a very long time, that the shower head wasn't all metal. There was a fake metal look attached to the top. The vinegar cleaned up the deposits well on the plastic part of the head nicely, but it also took off the fake metal. So if you're not as old as dirt like me, & still have your memory intact, it will do a great job if you take the Baggie off the next day!! Good luck!Helpful Reply

Janet Noddings on Apr 26, 2015My mom taught me this: soak a rag in vinegar. Then wrap it around the shower head, cover with a plastic sandwich bag, tie to fasten and leave overnight. In the morning it should be easy to finish scrubbing off any residue with a brush or teflon sponge.Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Apr 26, 2015Use The Works Toilet bowl cleaner. Wipe on with a rag then rinse. It will eat the hard water. Don't soak it it will flake off the metal but wiping it in the holes and wiping off it will come clean. It has muraticacid it will take off any hard water. It is a weaker soultion but it will do the job.Helpful Reply

Vivian Brown Talley on Apr 26, 2015Put CLR in a bag and tie it around the shower head (unless the head comes off). Soad overnight and the next morning it will wipe right off. If the head comes off, just soak it in a bowl of CLR.Helpful Reply

Ely Summers on Apr 27, 2015I use CLR. I tie a baggie with full strength CLR inside to the shower head and let it sit for about 30 mins. Works like a charm.Helpful Reply
