How can I get rid of strong smells in stuffed animals and clothes?

After storing a stuffed toy animal in a bag for a few weeks I found that it now has strong perfume order and I can’t use it for a gift as planned.

Try putting it in the dryer on fluff, no heat. If that does not work, use a fabric softener in the dryer again with no heat. You can also set them out in the sun for a day or two. -

put it in baking soda and place outside to absorb the odor -

Baking soda sprinkled over animal should absorb the odor. -

Try closing them in a sealed tub with crumpled newspaper around them. Just take care of the light colored ones, as ink from the paper could get on them.
