How do I clean a cast iron tea kettle?
Steel wool should remove it easily and throughly dry.
Start with a wire brush and scrub off as much of the rust as you can. Soak any remaining spots with Coca-Cola.

Thanks so much for your help! Remembered the steel wool at least lol! I use vinegar for so much, tyvm for reminding not to!
So many great answers & help so quickly! Owe each of you a bunch!! Will let you know how it turns out. Luckily, rust is mainly on the lid & small portion of the pot. You're all simply terrific! 🤗😊
Steel wool or stiff wire brush first to remove any loose, then you can sand. Apply WD40 or other oil after that. I've heard you can soak in CocaCola but I've never tried it.
