How do I get bluish rainbow stain out of my drinking glasses?

I don't know why my dishwasher does this but doesn't effect my glass bowls. I clean my dishwasher (stainless steel inside) with vinegar and baking soda but it doesn't help the problem. I have tried soaking them in vinegar and baking soda - still no luck. I need help.

    Are you using rinse product?

It's probably on everything just see it easier on glasses take a plate out in sunlight and tip it sideways to see if you can see it on plates, it coats everything so water won't spot settle on it.Try not using it. Also first try to wipe one of the glasses with isopropyl /rubbing alcohol to see if it comes off this will remove anything oil based. if this does it may need to stop rinsing aid and run thru numerous times adding some rubbing alcohol. also when it's on dry cycle just let it get hot then turn off & open door prop it open so it can air dry dishes the heat can bake on soap residue and for sure the rinse aid.Fabric softener in laundry does this too. It actually will make towels & wash cloths less absorbent.

    Hi Candy,

Give the hotline a call, have on hand the make and model numbers of your d/w, they can advise you.

I have had this happen on some glassware too and I think it depends on the type of glass. I have ruined some glasses and not others that have stood next to each other for many of the same dishwasher cycles. I also think there is no way to remove the damage from the glass.

Excessively soft water, long wash cycles at high temps, disilicates in your electric dish detergent, uneveness in the manufacture of the glass can all be possible reasons for the bluish case. It is thought to be irreversible.

I would suggest you don't put them in the dishwasher but wash by hand!
