i use the hand sanitizer. I remove as much of any label then cover it with hand sanitizer & let it sit. Afterwards I just scrub it under running water & a dishscrubber & it’s came off every time.

You might try fingernail polish.
Finger nail polish works well.
Try WD-40 or Goo Gone........
If the glue doesn’t peel off like rubber, after washing the cans in warm sudsy water, use GooGone to do the job. 😇
Rub plain oil onto the glue residue,that will loosen it enough to be able to peel it off

WD40 will remove glue. Make sure to spray it on a rag and not the cans. Rubbing alcohol might work too.
