If its rusty your best bet would be to lightly scuff it with a green kitchen scrubby and spray paint with Rustoleum 2X spray paint for metal. Several light coats will give you a smooth finish.
You can try to polish wit Brasso, but it is hard to bring brass back to its original shine. The only way to do it is to take it to your local brass polishing co.
Hello Lulu. You can clean your brass with ketchup. Crazy, right? The acid in the ketchup will bring brass back to looking new again. If the item has a lot of detail, you can scrub the ketchup into the piece using an old toothbrush. Let it set 10 minutes and then rinse with clean water. Dry with a clean soft cloth right away.
