It depends what the marks are. I clean my glass using washing up liquid and white vinegar in warm water. If the marks are embedded into the glass then use a small amount of Cif, or some other brand of cream cleaner which does not scratch the glass. Just put some cleaner on a pot scrubber which would be used for glass hobs or non stick pans and gently clean the area. Make sure you rinse the cleaner off well, otherwise you will end up with a dull surface.Hopefully this helps. Oh and I use baby vests/ bodysuits, to dry my glass. It brings out the bling!! -

would depend on what makes the marks -- if they are actually scratches a jewelers rouge might help; if 'magic marker / Sharpie' alcohol is good, also for latex paint; if calcium or lime marks in vases CLR is good unless the minerals have etched the glass. -
