I would try Goo Gone.
Vegetable oil, peanut butter, WD40, Goo-Gone
Warm dish soap water and a scrubby. Try a bit of Goo Gone on a cotton ball if it's really stuck on-then wash and dry. Sometimes even putting it in the dishwasher will get some or all of it off.
Goo Gone or WD40. If it's glass...nail polish remover.
I keep a small bottle of Goo Gone under my kitchen sink for labels. It doesn't take very much. If I run out, cooking oil works with a sprinkle of baking soda. Just work it into the residue.
