I sell a lot of jewelry on Ebay! I use white (not gel) toothpaste and a damp tooth brush. Also works on brass, copper, steel, athletic shoes. I needed one product to clean everything I sell.

I have used jewelry cleaners for 40 years. But the best is Dawn dishwashing detergent. Dawn is excellent for grease or any film from other things that get on your jewelry. I use a toothbrush and dawn to scrub my rings or jewelry. Do not use anything but water on pearls or opals. You can buy $1.00 Dawn at Dollar Tree.
