TSP (tri sodium phosphate) is the go-to for painters to get nicotine off walls. A nice bath would do wonders.

The safest step to take is warm water and Dawn, with a dish towel in the bottom of the sink. Nicotine is harder to get off than dusty grease. If the knick knacks are really delicate, repeat the dishwater step a couple of times, using slightly warmer water each time, and letting them dry between washings. Dawn has a little ammonia, but not as much as Windex, so Windex is great if your treasures don't lose paint. Try a small space on one to be sure. Use a cotton swab to clean small details. Just wait until you see the pretty colors under the nicotine. Best wishes😇

TSP can etch glass , ceramics, copper, brass, etc. Dawn cuts grease and may not work on nicotine. Soaking may also harm gentle finishes. Windex can strip ceramic and porcelain. I sell a lot of items on Ebay. I needed one cleaner for jewelry, ceramics, copper, brass, etc. I use white toothpaste (not gel) and a damp toothbrush. A dab of toothpaste on the brush and gently brush. Even gems come out sparkling. Also works on the rubber of sneakers. Works on teeth.

I've used Totally Awesome. Nicotine, grease, dirt just seems to run off. Just rinse in warm water after cleaning!

You'll love it! I find it at the Dollar Tree. Not sure if you have them in NYC. They also have one that smells like oranges, but I haven't tried that one yet.
