How can I remove mastic from concrete?

Heather
by Heather
I used Bean E Doo mastic remover on my concrete floors. I guess I didn't do it right and I gave up and just used Simple Green to try and degrease it after wards. My concrete absorbed so much of it even after I mopped it up that my concrete floors look wet and my house just smells so bad. How do I go about removing the moisture from my concrete floors now? I will never DIY again...lesson learned, thank you for your help.

Please don't give up on DIY. You have learned what every DIY has at one time. A mistake is a learning curve and it can be corrected. That is one of the reasons Hometalk exists. Sharing projects and solutions.

Soda (Coca Cola) ***** Here’s how to remove stains from concrete: Gather up a small bag of cat litter, a few cans of cola, a stiff bristle broom, bucket, laundry detergent, bleach, eye protection, and rubber gloves. Cover the stain with a thin layer of cat litter and brush it in. Sweep up the litter and pour cola to cover the area. Work the cola in with a bristle broom, and leave the cola for about twenty minutes. Mix 1/4 cup laundry detergent with 1/4 cup bleach in 1 gallon (3.7 liters) warm water and use it to mop up the mess.

my thoughts would be the same as the first one said. i had the same problem but to soak up the water try using baking soda and brush it away no smell but clean a little drops of white vinger and cheap it works on all household products and you can even wash your clothes without bleach a 1/2 cup of vinger (white) only and abouta 1/3 of baking soda redwine stains white wine will remove it
