What will remove built up polish on hardwood floors?

My housekeeper continued to use a liquid polish that made my floor shine but there are areas that have pet hair under the polish. I would like to remove the old polish and use Bona in the future.

I have the same issue and, thinking it will be very time consuming, doing one room at a time on different days, so I wont feel rushed, laying a damp rag with goo be gone over the pet hair buildup and keep working it until the pet hair comes up , get the floor super clean, then wax again applying 3 to 4 coats . This happened with Bona because our cleaning-team did not get all the pet hair up b/4 waxing. most likely in a hurry.Helpful Reply -

Varsol and fine steel wool will do the trick. Wear a mask and open the windows for plenty of ventilation.Helpful Reply -

There are many wax remover chemicals on the market, but you must use only those that are safe for hardwood floors. The most important thing is to avoid ammonia or products labeled as wax strippers. Many hardwood floors are sealed with polyurethane or another type of shellac or hard shell finish. Ammonia or wax stripper will cause the hard finishes to melt from the chemical reaction and turn white in tint. Varsol is a paint thinner that will also eat through the finish coat.More videos if you click on the link.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmjSwjg4eosHelpful Reply -
