I have knotty alder cabinets and would like to know what others use to clean them. Oils do not soak into the wood and it maybe that it has a clear coat finish. I use Murphy's oil soap, but I know there must be something better to use to clean off drips and spills down the cabinets.

So thank you both for answering my question. Will I need another product to shine up the cabinets after cleaning the drips up?
I’m a fan of Murphy’s Oil
i use Purple Power from Walmart or Automotive stores. You can mix it to whatever strength you need. Wear gloves, use a microfiber cloth Purple Power cleans just about anything
I used Liquid Gold when I a knotty pine family room and was amazed at what it took off. It was nice and shiny when done, too.
Preen works good if you can find it, too.
