My red painted kitchen cabinets look terrible. We are getting ready to sell and don't want to paint. What's the best way to clean them? Thanks for any help!

What have you tried to use?

  • Sawn dish soap and warm water out to do it. Rinse thoroughly and dry so they are bright fresh and clean.

Murphy's oil soap, Dawn dishwashing liquid, or Hillestad Kleens All are options that remove grease, grime. Make sure to slightly dampen cloth, but don't subject wood cabinets to a lot of water. Rinse cloth, wipe cabinets, dry thoroughly with a cloth.

You can scrape the paint off, then depending on what type of wood it is use Varathane, they would look natural, if that is what you want; or you could use paint thinner, but do it in an open & well ventilated area.

    Hope this helps you
