How can I get plastic peeling off of mobile home inside doors?

Hi Dawn! What does the surface look like under the plastic? If you have a paintable surface under the plastic, I would use a hair dryer to loosen up what hasn't peeled. Without seeing it, my best guess is that they are some type of hollow core door made from flimsy wood like what you find in inexpensive paneling, because it's what I've seen, before. You could beef up the door itself, adding to the surface with a material like bead board, which would give you a new surface to paint, is lightweight and would make the door more solid. If you don't want to go that route, peel the plastic or vinyl off, to the bare surface, since it is peeling. Use a good bonding primer like Kilz makes and then paint the color you want.

Generally speaking, peeling means release of adhesive, and that's a good clue. Take a blower type hair dryer set on high and heat the plastic beginning where the peeling stopped. Dont rush it, but after about 30 seconds begin gently pulling the plastic away from the under surface, moving the heat as you go. If you take your time, you should find the heat doing all the work and the plastic should come away almost effortlessly. After wards, clean the adhesive residue with paint thinner on an old rag. When the surface is clean, you can paint it. NO smoking around paint thinner, its flammable!
