kits are available in car parts (Auto Zone) that take that film off. this really does work! -

try bug spray. Saw it on a car show worked for me -

Try 1/2 and 1/2 vinegar and warm water shake real good and spray and if you have old news paper use them to wipe off or rag. News paper works better.- See 1 previous

I tried some of the over the counter headlight cleaner that was supposed to reove t he film and it didn't work. -

I did my daughters car. Used a White (not gel) toothpaste and a damp cloth. A dab of toothpaste on the cloth and rub in a circular motion a small area at a time. Keep the toothpaste moist. A separate wet cloth squeezing water as you rub. Wipe as you go along to see the progress. Once done put some paste wax over the lenses. -

Use toothpaste! I had two tubes of toothpaste I just couldn’t seem to empty. I use clips, strong rubber bands and a butter knife, and still couldn’t see to use it up. After reading this hint several times on Hometalk, I got my husband to try it. We cut the first tube in the center and squeezed the toothpaste out of both ends and into a baby food jar. The second tube we cut the crinkled end and the cap off, and used a butter knife to scrape the toothpaste out. This gave about 2 liquid oz. to smear on the wet front headlights, which was plenty. Hubby rubbed it all around, then rinsed the headlights, and buffed them with a soft cloth. Shiniest headlights ive ever seen. Best wishes ☺️ -

It really won't come off. It's sun/pollution/salt, etc that's damaged the porous surface of the headlight plastic. Since you said you've tried other methods to clean them and they haven't worked, your best option is to sand the plastic cover and then polish it. Or buy new headlight covers.
