We have several rooms that are tiled and spend alot of time cleaning grout. Is there an easier, safer way? We have pets.

It sounds like they aren't sealed. Once you get them clean, you should re-seal the grout lines. You can try vinegar or a clorox bleach pen. If you can't get them clean enough (stains may be penetrating deep below the surface), you can paint them. They make paint specifically for grout or use exterior paint. I used the exterior paint in my bathroom and re-sealed - it wasn't sealed originally, he just told me he did :( . That was 2005 & it still looks great.

I concur with Kathy that it seems to me that the tiles have not been sealed properly, or need to be redone again.

  • Hi Andye - This is the shower cleaner that we use to help keep grout and tiles clean and minimize the mildew - it works on kitchen grout too. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
