What is the easiest and best way to clean grout on tile?

We have several rooms that are tiled and spend alot of time cleaning grout. Is there an easier, safer way? We have pets.

    It sounds like they aren't sealed. Once you get them clean, you should re-seal the grout lines. You can try vinegar or a clorox bleach pen. If you can't get them clean enough (stains may be penetrating deep below the surface), you can paint them. They make paint specifically for grout or use exterior paint. I used the exterior paint in my bathroom and re-sealed - it wasn't sealed originally, he just told me he did :( . That was 2005 & it still looks great.

    I concur with Kathy that it seems to me that the tiles have not been sealed properly, or need to be redone again.

  • Cleaning Grout with Hydrogen Peroxide, Baking Soda, and Dish Soap

    1. Make a paste.
    2. Apply the paste with a toothbrush.
    3. Let the mixture sit on the grout for 15 minutes.
    4. Rinse the grout with warm or hot water to remove all of the solution.
    5. Use a rag to wipe the grout to remove any leftover residue or dirt.

    Mop the floor with clean water.


    OR


    Making a paste with OxyClean and water. Apply let sit for 20 mins. Scrub with toothbrush. Rinse well.


    Once it's clean, SEAL!
