How to get hard water areas off of windows?

The builders allowed the water sprinklers to hit the windows on our new home. We have our own well water. How do I get the hard water deposits off of the windows? I've tried CLR and vinegar. The windows are white and foggy on some of them. Thanks!

Hello Denise, Call the Builders back and ask them to put it right .....or you could try White Vinegar and news paper scrunched up..........

The builders have not been helpful. I've never had this many problems with a home. It's my first brand new house, but we bought it after they built it, so there was no customization. We've had a plethora of problems- refrigerator broke, dishwasher broke, cracked tile, fence falling down, etc.

straight CLR and single edged razor blade scraper or the straight vinegar and blade

I followed someone’s suggestion of using 0000 steel wool pads to get hard water stains off shower doors and it worked like magic. Did not scratch but you probably need to test on a small area in case the window glass isn’t as hard. I now spray doors with combination of Dawn and vinegar before showering and then squeegee at end of shower. Looks so much better. Before I’d tried CLR, BonAmi, Bar Keepers Friend, Limeaway.

Thanks Jan! I've tried all those too so I'm hoping your suggestion of fine steel wool helps.

You’re on the path I would follow , except I would add Dawn Ultra to the cleaning solution to remove what’s already there. Then I would do a new streakless cleaning with ammonia and warm water. Ammonia is cheap; change the water often to keep it warm and clean. Best wishes!

I would try using a baking soda and water paste
