How can Imake an outside house for my cats to stay warm in the winter?

I have 12 grown cats in my back yard I need a box type shelter for them to get in when it is cold. It needs to be long and low.
It needs to be weatherproof.

cat rescues take storage tubs and cut a hole in them, add blankets or straw inside. cats get in and curl up. body heat keeps the temp up. you can top them with pavers to keep from blowing away. I would not use the huge tubs, too much area to warm.
