I wouldn't worry so much about the barn door covering the outlets. You can open and close the barn door if you need to occasionally use them--and it seems to me that if you were using them all the time for table lights or alarm clocks, etc.-- a barn door may not be the right option for you I would not like to cover up light switches as that would be so inconvenient to have to open and close the door to use them. You could have the outlets moved but it is a matter of running new wire from where your electrical panel is and cutting new holes in the wall as well as repairing the old holes.
The outlets themselves shouldn't cause a problem unless you need to have something plugged into them all the time.
