How do I put ribbon on a Christmas tree?

I have a pencil tree, so I attached ribbon to a bow and just let it hang down from the top down to the bottom. I had it waving on the way down. It was really pretty.

We attach to top and wind around like kites but five the ribbon a twist every now and then. Looks great.

You could make individual bows, then at the back of the ribbon, slide in a pipe cleaner or chenille stick. Then use these to fix onto the tree.
