How do I determine which Cricut machine is the best on the market now?

I have one of the Cricut machines that came out years ago. Sadly, it is not capable to use with their online design app. I’m thinking of buying a newer and improved model. Any knowledgeable suggestions will be appreciated. My machine is the Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter.

  • I would get one of the Makers. They are the newest. I own the Maker (not the Maker 3) and love it. The Maker 3 lets you cut without a mat and faster with smart materials.

go to a store and see them on display and sometimes you can do a demo on them- ask friends who own them- read reviews online by googling cricut pros and cons of the models-

so glad I could help you out and thanks for the kind words....good luck on finding your new Cricut or the Maker - I had one of the first Cricut and sold it for almost nothing and never replaced it.

I would make a list of all the features that you will want to use and then eliminate the versions that do not have those.

Hi Kathy. Thanks for your response. I actually have just done what you asked. I mainly want the most bang for my bucks. Going to Joann’s fabric store and hope to get guidance there as well.

Hello. The current pricing on the Makers it’s unbelievable. About $20 more than what I paid for my air explore 2. I do believe this is for the older version of a maker were you do have to use the mat. Since it has a better motor and a few more cutting options like thin veneer wood and fabric it would be an unbelievable purchase opportunity with current pricing.

That being said I really enjoy my air explore 2 it functions perfectly for everything I need. If you have any additional questions please let me know

You may want to check Slick deals for price comparison . The deal they had at Target with a gift card is now expired but could come back.

Look what I’m seeing now….photo below. Best wishes with your upgrade and creative adventures!

Read the online reviews of each machine in which you are interested.

Thanks Janice. Been reading them today in my doctor’s office. But thanks for the suggestion and taking time to comment!

That means — for the first time ever — you can make cuts up to 12 ft long in one go. So if that is something that is important to you look into the Cricut 3. The all-new Cricut Maker 3 and Cricut Explore 3 have more powerful motors, which means you now have the ability to cut up to 2X faster than before, when using Smart Materials — all without sacrificing power or precision.

Thanks so much for your comment. I’m excited about getting a new machine. I’m trying to now decide where I buy it. I’ve always been a comparison shopper so I’m hoping for a really good sale on whatever I buy. Thanks again.

Thanks Deb. I have purchased the Cricut Maker 3 in November. I haven’t used it yet. Too busy getting finished decorating. But looking forward to using it after Christmas.
