How do i give a farmhouse look to a double swag light at a bath mirror

I have a large bathroom mirror that comes out of the ceiling with chains that swag to each side and drape down with white globes with blue stencil. I'm not at all fond of the gold tone chain and globe mounts and i am eliminating blue from the room. How can i change it up without buying a new lamp? I love the large mirror.

You could wrap rope around it. Here is a picture of rope wrapped around the chains for a swing. You could easily do this to your bathroom lights.
change out with hemp rope ... you can 'UNTWIST' it and re-twist it around the cords -- to keep it from 'kinking '
Remove the glass from the lamps and put on mason jars
Spray paint the chain and the fixture an "oil rubbed bronze" or "flat black" color, and replace the glass shades with clear Mason jars -- or use a tin shade from a cheap clip-on lamp that just fits over the bulb (spray paint the tin shade the same color as your chain & fixture) and use an old Edison-style bulb. That should fix you right up -- for less than $20 :)

I love Barbara's ideas you could also paint every thing white instead of the oil rubbed bronze. The white would make everything blend in, the chains would " fade away" into your walls. Where as the oil rubbed bronze is more of a statement.
