Hi. I know this may sound complex but it really isnt. I placed mine in a cardboard box filled with half borax half cornmeal, leaving the tops poking out through small holes in the side of the box. You'll have to leave them for about 2 weeks or longer until dried. Then I removed them, brushed any residue off and gave them a light spray with a spray acrylic, again, leaving the tops untouched. I've had them for two years now. I hope this helps 😊
