Florist wire or downpipe cleaners. Gentle insert and wrap once between a section, then wrap around your base. If cones are brittle, you can remove the lower pods, drill a hole through the exposed base, thread in wire and then wrap around your wreath frame. You may need to weave in filler to cover the wire/pipe cleaner.
Take the wreath form (Michael's, JoAnn's) and wrap picture-hanging wire-size wire in a zig-zag pattern from the top circle of wire to the bottom circle, making a "web" that you can then attach the pinecone flowers to. Good luck!
Hi Patricia. I use either wire, or a hot glue gun. I have done many wreaths that go out side and used hot glue. It holds up well for me.
There are two methods I use to attach my pine cone "flowers" to metal wreaths. You can hot glue them on, but some eventually will come off. The best method is to use wire like you find for crafters or making flower bouquets and under the "petals" wrap the wire to the metal wreath. They go one very easily and will stay permanently much better than hot glue. I wanted dark wire, but all I could find was green but it worked well and did not show once I got enough pine cones on it.
