Coincidentally I have worked in the floral industry on and off since my 20's eons ago. Now work as a fill in or sub for a floral shop in the same strip mall as my other part time job, caring for dogs.
The glue guns I carry with me are ancient and what was available back then and still work and have done hundreds of events since then. Much better manufacturing now. Needs to be comfortable to work with, good "hand" feel and doesn't leak or overheat. And has the longest cord for ease of use.

Honestly, I've found that the tiny ones that they sell at Michaels or Joann crafts work the best. They are small enough to get into small spots, when making wreaths, they use the small sticks and they have cords so you don't have to worry about running out of battery power in the middle of a project.

I have one that I got at Hobby Lobby and it is cordless and takes the longer glue sticks. I love it!
I am not sure of what brand is the best, but yes, like above, make sure it takes the long glue sticks or you will forever be adding them ;)
