How do I build a faux fireplace mantle?

Ok Cheryl,
Is this for keeps or for the season? If for the season you could use cardboard boxes that were strong enough and cover with Brick/stone Wallpaper or Marble Contact etc. If it needs to be stronger use a framework of timber and Hardboard or MDF. It all depends on your design idea. Best to draw up you your idea first to concentrate the mind.....Have fun............
