Maybe paint a pretty lace design using a removalable spray mount to put the lace on the glass and then the paint between the holes.
Fill a disposable container with water and drop 3 or so hues of nail polish. Slightly stir. It will float on top. Roll the vase in the water and it will marble. Let it dry on a paper towel.
