I don't know how creative my answer is, but I would paint the mount the wall colour, and put 2 holes in the wall: one behind the tv, and one by the outlet. They sell special grommets to finish off the holes.
Alternatively you could put a thick frame around the TV that hides the mount.

Maybe a decorative ladder behind the tv, so you can hide the top parts and the cords at the bottom?
I have installed a lot of wall mounted TV's. Never ran into this kind of problem. The install just doesn't look right. You could get a board as wide as the TV slightly higher than the visible mount paint it black and screw it above the TV. As for the cables you can install cable raceways on the wall to hide the cables. Paint them same color as the wall and they "disappear".

Ok, first you need to hide the cords with some sort of cable cover. Or . . . This might be expensive - invest in new cables so you can position the tv properly, then hide the cords. If not possible at this time, how about making some sort of wood board with some fun saying on it that relates to tv, sports, favorite movie line, etc., to hang directly above the tv to hide the rest of the tv mounting bracket. I hope this makes sense! I can see it in my head but getting it out of there and throught my stylus to type is a completely different story!
what's wrong with some inexpensive artificial greenery?
I would place a console under the tv and place all the cords together by zip tie or twisty and place stacked books, colored ones (readers digest) from salvaction army stores, but look under the cover to see the nicest colors, and add pictures one one side and the outher candle stick holders etc.
You could add a shelf over the tv and put decorations to hide the mounts.
