Personally I like wall tattoos (or wall stickers, wall decals) as they can be quite decorative, inspiring or as individual as you like. Also, they are usually quite easy to remove so you can always try something new if you do not like it anymore. Apart from that you can of course always decorate with your favourite pictures (framed, printed on canvas and/or applied to the wall with sticky back velcro tape). Either way: have fun with it :)
Painting is a good and cost effective method. I painted my study recently using a brownish lower portion of the 4 walls and a color coordinated tan on the upper portion. About 40" up from the floor I installed a chair rail to separate the 2 colors. I bought pre-finished oak style base board that is 2.5" wide X 3/8" thick x 10 ft. long. It looks nice. I used Sherwin Williams paint, but most stores now have great paint.
Hello Toni, I agree with Nicole. I like the idea of wall stickers. You can add to them as you want. They should be easy to remove as well. Another idea is to use fabric that has been soaked in starch water. You put it on the wall just like you would wallpaper. Again, easy to remove. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
Hello Toni; There are so many things that you can do for your walls, which do not involve wallpaper.
It all depends on what wall in your Home that you wish to work on.
If you have Children, a cost effective and a very creative way is to use one blank wall as a canvas for their Artwork. (My Parents did this in their Dining room for my Art when I was a child and kept it as I got older)
Photos, Paintings, even used Thrift Store/Flea Market finds make amazing pieces of Art for your walls that does not cost much.
I hope that this helps you! Take Care!
Love Nicole's suggestion about the wall decals, my girlfriend and I even found some really cool ones at Dollar Tree that we mixed in with some that we found elsewhere for more.
wall decals & gallery walls are beautiful.
How about a mural?
