I want to hang my art but don't want 60 holes in the walls, any ideas?

I am a renter with approx 60 pieces of fine art lithographs and etchings from the masters period. I love what I have purchased and would like to enjoy them. I have a 10x14 foot wall available in the living area of the home and then 4 bedrooms and hall ways, do you think I should spread them out or just damage one wall?icon

3M Command had picture hanging options. Check it out at Walmart. Other option is to do a picture rail.

I saw a really great way for displaying pictures a while ago. They used a heavy duty fishing line and stung it from one end of a wall to the other. They strung it about 8 inches from the ceiling but you can decide where you want. Then you can hang as many picture as you want. The fishing line is clear so it appears the pictures are just free floating. Enjoy!

YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED HOW MUCH WEIGHT A 50LB TEST LINE WOULD HOLD. THINK ABOUT THE FISHERMEN THAT CATCH THOSE SHARK...

GREAT SHARES! Also, IF your pictures are not framed...consider using cork board large enough to hold 2 to 4 of the pictures...DON'T put holes in the edges of the prints either...use strips of plastic/heavy paper firm enough to hold the edges of the prints in place without damaging them.

jerry's Artarama (on line) sells a system that many galleries use. There is a metal track that goes on the wall close to the ceiling. From there you put either clear or metal "string" with adjustable hooks on which to hang your pictures. This is great because you can change your pictures without filling old nail holes.

I use command strips. They come in all weight sizes. Good luck!

they have fishing lines that carry 50 and 100 pounds. Maybe more for those who deep sea fish. I used 50 lb before for something else (I don't fish). You could als use wire but the fishing line would be less visible. I so hope you fine something that works as I have favorite art pieces that just makes me smile and reminds me of special memories when I look at them. Best of luck!😄

First, cut piece of brown paper to the size of the area you want to use on the wall, put the paper on the floor arrange and rearrange all your art on the paper. When you are happy, outline each picture on the paper, label the piece insde the paper frame. Pin the paper on the wall, adjust up/down, etc. make pencil mark through the paper where hook would go. Then use the correct weight-bearing scotch brand removable hooks.

The weight is always going to be the key factor to how you hang. You may want to look at some of the heavier pieces sitting on the floor leaning against a wall, use museum quality gum to anchor the back.

Command hooks are the best sticks. To back of art then to the wall easy to remove no holes live them

I am sorry, I thought I had replied but yes you can get fishing line 50 to 100 lbs. may heavier like those who use it for deep sea fishing. If you don't feel comfortable with that you might consider wire. But fishing line gave a illusion of not being there. Wishing you the best.

I saw a photo wall that was done with a large piece of white (or whatever color you choose) felt fabric was hung on a wire at the ceiling and went to the floor. Then, frames with velcro strips on back were placed on the felt. Very chic.

I am sitting in my bedroom and I counted the wall hung art here and in adjacent bathroom and it is 24. We have a house full of art but no single space such as you describe. Maybe it is easier when the walls themselves constrict you? I would just deal with the 60 holes. Oh, and check out a movie called "Best Offer" on Netflix. . . now that is some picture hanging!
