To build on what Marlene said above---find a quote in sticker form that you like. If you want color for the letters that is not the color of the stick on quote paint your base that color first. Place your quote on the base, adhering the edges firmly with a credit card or the like. Carefully paint a contrasting color over this whole piece that you want the project to be. For instance, you want sea green letters (base coat) with a teal background (last coat). Before the top coat completely dries remove the vinyl letters and touch up any skips in the paint. Not difficult and you can use a small foam roller to carefully apply the top coat of paint.
