Our pine trees have produced more pinecones this year than they have in the past 10 years. I would appreciate any ideas on how to use them.

This will give you some ideas. I love working with pinecones myself!https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1298&bih=656&ei=wUwoWqHLJMqGjwOF9K-YDQ&q=pinecone+crafts&oq=Pinecone&gs_l=img.1.2.35i39k1j0l9.5364.11128.0.18009.15.12.3.0.0.0.164.1088.9j2.11.0....0...1ac.1.64.img..1.14.1100.0...0.bVtxOxXgc9QHelpful Reply -

Hi Teresa. I make fire starters with them. I wrap wicking around the pine cone leaving a little tail. I then melt soy wax add scent and color and then dip the pine cones in the melted wax. Put them on wax paper to cool. I usually dip mine 3X to achieve more of a color. I bought some decorative X-Mas baskets and put them in the baskets for gifts. Even if you don't have a fireplace they are pretty and smell nice.Helpful Reply -

Not a craft but thought I would add my 2 cents. I found this fall that pinecones are great to put in the bottoms of flower pots for light-weight natural drainage!Helpful Reply -

Pinterest.com will have lots of ideas for you... There was one post on the forum here, where the crafter had made a pine cone tree that was 4 ft tall....scroll thru and see if you can find the post... she was asking about sealing it...one tip... use the hot glue gun in tandem with a good craft glue (like Aleene's Tacky Glue)... the hot glue will hold..while the craft glue dries.. for a more permanent hold.Helpful Reply -

Put them in a large glass vase, and add cinnamon sticks. Do this in several rooms with different glass dishes or baskets.Helpful Reply -
