Tv cut out over fireplace- need some ideas
I have a cutout over my fireplace for a tv. The problem is it will only fit a 42 in. I need some ideas of how to box this in and build amantle
I personally have had a TV over my fireplace mantle. I think it all depends on your design preference and If the fireplace gets too hot.
You can put you tv over your fireplace but put something to deflect the heat of the fire place.
If you feel comfortable about the position there is on need for others opinions.
Which type of fireplace is it ? Does it have a good blower? In other words, you want to air from the blower to cast some of the heat forward (so all of the heat doesn't flow upwards). We actually have a television above our fireplace; it has about a two foot clearance.
You see that placement in design often and I have also wondered about the heat a fire would put off not being too good for a TV above but with a blower or space between it seems to work out
I think it'll all depend if you want the fireplace to be the focal point of the room then you shouldnt put a TV on it, but if don't mind then is Ok to have the TV on the mantle.
As long as it's not throwing off too much heat it will be fine.
