I need help with my Spring wreath!

Dear Hometalkers,
I want to make a spring wreath for my mother and I've been searching for ideas for the past hour but couldn't find anything she would like. I love farmhouse decor but my mom doesn't so anything rustic like burlap, jute etc won't work. She's more of an elegant pink and silver kind of person. So I was thinking maybe wrapping a silk scarf around the wreath and adding a bow. But that leaves it kind of bland. Any idea how to make a pretty wreath without the usual suspects? I'd appreciate any kind of helpful input.

I think a door swag is much more elegant than a wreath. You might consider something with silk pink roses in the middle and different greenery around. You can also add some silver somewhere to give it some shine.

What about some pretty pink flowers? This one could be really pretty and elegant- http://www.hometalk.com/diy/craft/seasonal-decor/spring-rosebud-wreath-8173267

Thanks, I saw that one while browsing and it does look pretty but those real touch flowers are really expensive - I'd be looking at a 100 € wreath!

Are you sure she would even like a wreath. How about the kind that hangs down I don't know what you call it, tie with ribbon add a small nest some elegant love birds but no flowers. You don't want her to feel like she has to put it up so why not ask her if she would like that or something else. Has she always hung things on her door when you were growing up? She sounds very elegant maybe fresh tulips that she can enjoy inside the house would be appreciated. Just a thought,I don't have daughters only sons and I have felt obligated to put things up since preschool, I would love flowers. They are all adults that still live at home they just don't hear the hints.😊 Sometimes I wonder if the people that I answer think I'm too much to the point but why waste time and money on something that the person may not like nor want.

I saw on Rachael Ray this week, use spring styled rain boots. (Could be kids sized) the tie together with silver ribbon and and a bow. The boots can then be filled with flowers. Simple but could be sophisticated with the choice of materials. Have fun!

I think your idea of a silk scarf or a long narrow piece of beautiful fabric would work as well. You could buy a bouquet of pink peonies and separate them and add them in a decorative way to the wreath. I'm sure your mother will love receiving a diy wreath from you! If the wreath is for inside, you could add some bling by using a few articles of costume brooches or pins to the scarf/fabric/ribbon.
