Don't like fussy, frilly and need to keep toned down since there are antique Chinese prints on one wall.

Go to your local restore and look for a wooden door that you like (something with panels perhaps) can be painted (red and/or black to fit in with the Chinese prints) :or stripped and stained to taste. Use ‘L’ brackets to attach to the wall.

Kyrosewpg, the opposite of toned down, red is a frequent color used in Asian decorating, as are peach and pink. And certainly off white or pale yellow, which looks like paper. If you have a Pier 21 store, you could buy or get the idea for how to build a Chinese folding screen. Even with the legs, you could hang a three-section screen right on your wall, whether it is painted or has plain paper screening. Or hang a couple more prints above your bed. Add a couple of Chinese figurines, and you have an Asian room. Best wishes 😇

Hello. You can find a old door to hang as a head board.

Do you really need a traditional headboard? A sofa table would low (oriental styling) yet a place for lamps, etc.
