What can you do instead of headboards?

If you can't have a headboard for some reason, you could always paint a headboard on the wall. Have you ever been to a hotel where they anchor an upholstered panel to the wall instead of a headboard? Depending on your style, you can decorate above the bed on the wall. Monogram or some type of vinyl sign, a large painting or mirror, if you like farmhouse one of the cathedral decor items, the ideas are endless. I don't have a headboard in 3 of our bedrooms and have the wall above decorated instead.
