Do you have a certain decor in your kitchen?
This will give you hundreds of ideas! https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1485&bih=656&q=ways+to+decorate+kitchen+walls&oq=decorate+kitchen+wall&gs_l=img.1.2.0l2j0i5i30k1j0i8i30k1l3.4959.17164.0.21690.26.25.1.0.0.0.87.1423.23.23.0....0...1.1.64.img..2.24.1424.0..35i39k1.GAzgRcHeWgg
alot of people like to build their decor around a theme. sometimes that will be dated by the following year! I would say if you wouldn't be opposed to painting, you could paint the wall a focal color, something contrasting with the rest of the kitchen, then you could build around that! Or do you have something in your kitchen that you use as a focal point? play that up. if you like certain items like tea cups, plates, fans etc. anything could be put on a wall unless there is a hazard that someone would knock it off the wall by going by it. open shelving is also a neat idea! you can display items with staggered shelves.
Pinterest always has fantastic ideas from real people.....

Great for a pop of color.
Well in my dreams I would have an empty kitchen wall! I am in love with china. Each pattern is like a little work of art to me, so I would probably hang china on an empty wall. Since my husband is an artist I would hang art work that maybe has to do with food. I have a friend who once hung a beautiful quilt in her kitchen. When you say empty do you mean actually a floor to ceiling wall with nothing on it? No switches, no outlets etc? How big is this wall?
You could display some plates, old utensils, I have everything from paintings to family pictures on my kitchen walls.
I would section some of it off and paint it with blackboard paint (you can frame it with trim for a more finished look) and make a conversation wall for notes, schedules, memos and lists.
Another thing you could do would be to find a large wall mirror or a dramatic multi-piece canvas art to make a huge statement. My hubby & I chose this one when we were updating our living room and changing the accent color to red.

There are MANY beautiful one out there. Google something like "Wall décor (then size or # of panels) (color if you want) then 'canvas' (if that's what you want. So I would start with ' Wall décor large red canvas ' . You might need to modify that search phrase as you go but you should find something you both like.
Good luck!
