Someone Elses Trash Quikly Becomes My Treasure!

Someone threw this little table away. Everything I do is visual, so easy for me to visualize a finished project. Once I have a vision, like I did with this little piece, I get busy creating my vision. This piece was so much fun. The top of this table was particle board. I believe it had a veneer finish at one time and when that finish peeled away, they threw it away. Lucky for me.
The first thing I did was seal up the particle board with primer. I found a piece of pottery at the good will for $3.00 that I just loved. I broke it with a hammer and then began laying it out and putting the pattern back together like a puzzle. I put a trim around the table for the depth of the tiles.
I used tile glue and glued all the pieces to the top of the particle board. Painted the legs and trim and found this beautiful blue grout at Michaels to match the paint . After the grout set and was wiped clean I let set over night to allow sufficient drying time.
After everything had set and dried I still had about an 1/8 of an inch from the top of the tiles to the top edge of trim. I then used Envirotex pour-on finish also found at Michaels. One thick coat equals 50 coats of varnish. Love this stuff.
