Watch Craigslist and you can sometimes get them free as long as you haul them away. -

Depends on what you want to make and how many you need. They are heavy though, so hopefully you have a truck. Still one of the least expensive building materials around. -

depends on amount needed but conder blocks are relatively inexpensive and very versatile for projects. I have made planters out of a few.
