Adding Wainscoting and New Paint to Our Home

My husband and I recently added wainscoting and painted three rooms in our house. We did work in our dining room, living room, and family room – we had wainscoting installed and painted, and painted the top wall of all three rooms in just under a week. Whew! It was definitely worth all the effort we put in to it - we absolutely LOVE how it turned out!
We started by removing everything from our walls. Then we spent the better part of 2 days moving furniture, covering furniture, taping, spackling and sanding.
We then had the wainscoting installed. We had a day in between the wainscoting and painting (cue awkward comments from our visitors about how they “love the colors we picked….”) YIKES! Don't worry... we are not leaving our walls a striped disaster!
Our neighbor is a professional painter and was able to spray the wainscoting white for us. It was SO fast and easy - I loved his sprayer! So AMAZING!
We painted the top walls ourselves with Sherwin Williams Light French Gray.

Has anyone ever seen wainscoting that is much shorter than usual? My windows have a sill that is about 15" above the floor. The baseboard is 6" high and the trim below the sill is 4" high. This leaves an awkward 5" of wall showing between baseboard and sill/trim. I'd like to add a molding strip at the sill all around the two window walls, which meet in a corner, and trim the resulting space between molding and baseboard as if there were a 15" high wainscot. Alas, I just can't picture it in my mind. Help!

What a beautiful transformation and love the colors you used. Do you know the brand of your neighbor's paint sprayer, please?
