How can I make a door frame smaller?

I have a door frame that is 80 3/4 and front door that is 79 1/4.

If the width is correct, you should be able to add some wood boards to reduce the door frame. You will have to use larger trim to hid the boards but hopefully that will work
Make sure you caulk and seal any cracks before you trim it out. If light can pass through, so can cold &/or hot air.
