Throwback Thursday: Do You Have Pics of Flowers From Years Past...?

This was a wild flower that grew in fields across from our quarters on the base at Anchorage, Alaska. This was taken in 1952-1953. I was 5 years old but remember these so vividly, beautiful flowers in a sea of weeds left by 9 months of snow on the ground. They are a favorite childhood memory.

This is a "Fire Weed", it grew wild in Alaska when I lived there as a child, 1952 or so.
I always thought it was so beautiful.

Love the butterfly on my old fashioned zinnia, the flowers my grandmother always grew.

Antique hurricane lilies.

Variegated lilies, smell so sweet.

About 7-8 years ago I loved taking pictures of flowers. But my pictures were a little different. I don't have any idea on the names of most all of them. I called them my "Up close & Personal" pics. Here's why... The 2nd one, the flower is smaller than a dime & is actually a weed in my yard. The others, I think I took at Busch Gardens.Helpful Reply -

I would love to have a backyard full of luscious grass, but... I think I have every weed-type flower & it's grass-like bottom that can be found in the state of Florida. Lol 😊Some of the flowers on them are beautiful, but I'd still rather have grass.Helpful Reply -

I know how ya feel, Tami! Our yard is in desperate need right now, my husband said the commercial of the man looking at his lawn (which is all weeds) and saying sadly, this is the only thing that grows, is a clone of us! We have been down in our backs (both at the same time!) for several months and have not done anything with our grass or flowers. We are just thrilled that our Weeds WILL Grow at This point...hahaHelpful Reply -
