How can we make our entryway homey? Its through our garage, help!!

The main entry to our home is through our garage - We come in a side door and up 3 steps into a very small laundry room, how can I make this more homey?

    My friend has the same problem! She did what she could with the space that she had, she painted the garage-entry a very homey welcoming shade of light blue and covered the area in family pictures and welcome signs. It looks great!
