May snip the fray with scissors and be very careful when you vac because it will start again -

Hot glue on the underside. If you can only get to it from the top find the yarn that wants to unravel and put a dot of hot glue on it to hold it in place. -

Roberts Universal Carpet Seam Sealer at Home Depot. $5.47 for 8 oz.. Used it in a rental and ten years it was still holding strong. Just use it sparingly. -

Carpet Tape or Place a table or something over it - like a rug........ -

Put a metal strip on, so that the carpet is covered on both ends
