Can I use GREAT STUFF Fireblock insulating foam to fill a gap?
Under my stove, there is a gap in the floor around the electrical wire that feeds the stove. Is it safe to use GREAT STUFF Fireblock insulating foam to fill the gap? I'm filling the gap to keep mice out. That wire doesn't get hot, right? I've read to add steel wool to the filler. Thanks!

Hi Kerri, that would be just fine!
Kerri,
Use copper mesh. It will not rust like steel wool.
Hi Kerri, sorry you are having a problem. Here is an article I found about this catching fire and I want you to be safe. Please check with an electrician first before you do this. I do put aluminum foil around pipes I fear mice can get it. Just please be safe and read all instructions first. hope this helps you. DOW Great Stuff 'Fireblock' - Watch Out! - Fine Homebuilding

I don't see any reason why you couldn't use it.
Stuff the steel wool in first. Then the spray foam. Mice will claw/eat through the foam by itself
