How can I cover an electrical outlet in the floor?
This outlet is next to my chair and I need to cover it with something decorative that standard cords can fit through, but still hide the cords within.

Hi Denice,
How about putting a table that has legs next to the chair? That would hide the plug and a lot of the cord and would be an easy solution. You could even paint a wooden box, then put it open side down over the plug and then put a plant on top to make it look like it belonged there. I hope this helps. Wishing you the best.
Is the bottom of the chair open just put chair directly over it
That looks like the wrong outlet for floor use. if you dropped a drink on it it would not be good. There are much better looking and safer floor outlets that close
A floor lamp with the bottom elevated would look nice also. Or one of the decorative barrels would also look nice.
I agree with Harriet. Please have a certified electrician check to see is this is up to the Nation Electric code standard.
install a outside electric receptacle in floor. You can keep the same cover. Purchase a white plastic water tubing and 90 degree elbow that the male plug and line will fit in. you can cut the plastic water line to length with a normal saw. Purchase the amount needed of same color carpet to cover the plastic water line. and outlet cover. Clean the water line and outlet cover good with rubbing alcohol. then cover the water line and outlet cover using carpet glue. you also could use a self stick shelfing paper to cover each with. Good Luck!
there are safety devices to plug into outlets, they are clear plastic. they have 2 prongs to go into the outlet. I have them in every outlet that has an outside wall. use 1 to cover the socket.
