How do I fix carpet snags from dog scratching?

My dog has one favorite place to lay on the carpet, which he occasionally scratches as he settles in for a nap. Unfortunately, he has pulled up a few snags and loosened some of the fibers.

Can I fix this with something like a hot glue gun and carefully replacing the torn fibers?

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

I just snip off the long threads. My daughter’s cats do the same thing. I also try to spray some repellent in that spot. Good luck! p.s. I would not use hot glue. I would use washable fabric glue if you think you need it.

Use a strong needle to hide them back in ,but the space from were the pulled piece is to were you are going to out it in has to be as smallest possible for not to see the gap.

I have cut the snags in "half" --- then tied them together... to stop the rug from running.

(Maybe your pooch needs his own small blanket or bed -- to make a "nest.")
